The public was invited to the 1st Ready for Take-Off Open House Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at A. L. Mangham, Jr. Regional Airport. The Open House featured live music by the GMC Trio with free soft drinks and hot dogs. During the event there were various door prizes and free T-shirts were given away.

One of the primary uses of the airport is for various military and public safety missions. To echo this, there were several public safety static displays including City of Nacogdoches fire equipment, the emergency management mobile command trailer, police cruiser and SWAT vehicle.

The City of Nacogdoches also celebrated the Grand Opening of its new aviation fuel farm at A. L. Mangham, Jr. Regional Airport with a Chamber Ribbon Cutting.

Special fuel discounts were offered throughout the day’s event. Local and visiting pilots showcased their aircraft on the main ramp during the event. Visitors to the airport saw first-hand some of the different planes that call A. L. Mangham, Jr. Regional Airport home. Over 50 hangars house an assortment of aircraft at the Nacogdoches municipal airport.
