City Manager Jim Jeffers
Brief Biography

Jim Jeffers has over thirty years experience as a City Manager, having served in three other cities before coming to Nacogdoches in 2003.

“Nacogdoches has a rich history and the City is committed to historic preservation while partnering with the private sector to assertively promote economic development opportunities. As home to Stephen F. Austin State University the community offers a unique blend of cultural events, festivals, parks, and trails for all ages,” Jeffers said.

Jeffers has extensive experience in city finances, employee relations and strategic planning. He maintains an inclusive, entrepreneurial management style and has the proven ability to build strong teams from diverse groups, providing result-oriented actions.

Jeffers earned a Masters of Political Science and a Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration from West Texas A & M University.

Jim and his wife Gwendolyn have five children and four grandchildren.
