City Secretary
Duties
The city secretary is under the direct supervision of the city manager. Their duties include:
  • Attendance at all City Council meetings, taking minutes and recordings of proceedings
  • Coordinating all city elections and overseeing early voting
  • Development of City Council agenda packets and posting of agendas
  • Insuring that all ordinances are published when necessary and codified in a timely manner
  • Issue permits for itinerant vendors and charitable solicitation
  • Maintains all contracts, deeds, and other official documents of the City
  • Processing public information requests and overseeing compliance with all provisions and state statutes governing records management
