Oscar Movie Night - Arrival (PG-13)

Join us for the Fourth Annual Oscar Movie Night.   We'll watch an Academy Award-nominated film and enjoy Oscar-worthy hors d'oeuvres.  Feel free to dress up and get in the spirit, although no dress code is required. The film will be Arrival (Paramount, PG-13), starring Amy Adams & Jeremy Renner.

Fostering a Healthy Appetite in Children

Learn what influences children’s appetites, why children are picky eaters and tips on how to manage picky eaters. Videos and an interactive scenario will help reinforce your takeaways. The program is presented at the same time as Minecraft so kids can play while parents learn.


Permaculture 101

Join local expert Theron Beaudreau as he shares an introductory look into permaculture principles and holistic design strategies for east Texas.  Permaculture is an ethics-based design science that aims to foster harmonious relationships between humans and natural systems.


Non-Toxic Living for Everyday Wellness

Are your everyday home and beauty products impacting your health? Take back the safety of your home and your health with these money-saving, non-toxic recipes that are easy to make and use. We will make a few recipes in the class and have additional recipes to share, as well as share ideas with each other about innovative ways of reducing our environmental footprint while increasing our overall health and joy.

Mulching is a way of gardening that has a multitude of benefits. Come and learn about different mulching techniques, different types of mulch, and what this way of landscaping can do for you!


Essential Oils Basic Class

Essential oils naturally occur in plants, each with its own unique scent and therapeutic benefit.  Many, like peppermint, citrus oils, and tea tree, are commonly used in many commercial products.  They can be used for cleaning, to deodorize a room, to lift your mood, for health and healing, and in cooking.  We will talk about the most commonly used oils and their health benefits.

Color Me Calm: Adult Coloring

Spanish/English Conversation Group (Grupo de Conversacion en Íngles y Español)

Do you know a little Spanish but never have an opportunity to practice? Would you like to meet people and help others? This group joins English-speakers who want to learn Spanish with Spanish-speakers who want to learn English. For one hour we take turns speaking in English and Spanish. This is a great way to practice your comprehension and speaking skills. All levels welcome! Si usted desea practicar su íngles, nosotros tendremos un programa para usted. Aquí practicamos como hablar íngles con personas que quieren aprender español. Ambos grupos gozan la oportunidad de aprender más. Todos niveles de íngles son bienvenidos.

We’ll be in the lobby every Tuesday afternoon to help you learn how to use your devices, from mobile phones to smartphones to tablets, laptops or digital cameras.  This is a walk-in workshop for those who have questions about their devices.  Feel free to bring the trouble-making equipment with you!

Students will learn the basics of creating an appealing slideshow presentation for school, work or other uses. Students will also get a basic introduction to alternatives to PowerPoint. Must be an experienced computer user.


Microsoft Publisher & Canva

Dates: February 22 and April 26

Time: 5:30pm

Ages: 18 years & up

Registration: Free. Please register by the day before the class.

Students will learn to create flyers and business cards using Publisher and the free web-based program called Canva. Must be an experienced computer user.
