Judy B. McDonald Public Library is a department of city of Nacogdoches. The library has received many grants including: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Lifelong Learning & Literacy Grant, DVD Grant, Texas Book Festival Award, AmeriCorp MentorCorp, and Texas Responds Grant and Loan Star, both from Texas State Library & Archives Commission. The Judy B. McDonald Public Library has been serving the Nacogdoches area since 1972.

eBooks & Public Library Catalog
Thanks to SFA Steen Library Staff, our Overdrive eBooks can now be found on the library's catalog. Remember, they're free to download and you never incur any library fines. Ask a library staff person how to get started downloading free eBooks and eAudio Books!

How To Get A Library Card
Fill out an application form and present proof of residence. Proof of residence can be an ID that shows your current address or any other item that has been mailed to you. Children under 17 years of age must have a parent's signature. First card is free; replacement card fee $1.00. 

Circulation Policy
Books from the "new book section" - 2 weeks. All other books - 4 weeks. Audio Books on CD or cassette - 4 weeks. Entertainment videos/DVDs - 7 days. Non-Fiction videos - 2 weeks LIMITS : 3 non-fiction books per call number; 8 cassettes, 5 CDs; 4 videos or DVDs per family. No limit on fiction books. FINES : 10 cents a day on books and cassettes, $1.00 a day on videos and DVDs. RENEWALS : Can be done in person or telephone (559-2970). Limit one renewal. An item cannot be renewed if another customer is waiting for that item.

How-To Festival on March 5th
The library is now accepting proposals for presenters to demonstrate a skill, talent, or project or to have an information table.  Some examples of presentations from last year’s event include how to screen print a t-shirt, how to play chess, how to identify poisonous snakes, how to hula hoop, how to keep bees, and much more.  Individuals, groups and businesses are all welcome to present in a mini-session of 15 minutes to one hour.
