The Nacogdoches Mayor’s Committee on People with Disabilities invites you to:

17th Annual Sports Day Out

Saturday, September 23rd

10 am to 2 pm

SFA Ag Pond (on East College beside Hall 20).


The mission of the Sports Day Out event is to:

Provide a free recreational day for individuals with disabilities and their family/friends.

Activities:

  • Fishing
  • (Fishing rods, tackle, bait are provided and no fishing license is required)
  • (Fishing Contest with a total of $200 in prizes)
  • Petting zoo and pony rides
  • Yard games, board games, bingo, face painting, etc.
  • Beep Baseball
  • (The visually impaired invites everyone to play)
  • Two live bands for entertainment
  • Free lunch for everyone including volunteers
  • Volunteers will be available to assist with activities and lunch

How much does it cost to attend?

This event is free, thanks to our community sponsors.

Do I have to be a person with a disability to attend?

You are more than welcome to come if you are associated with an individual with a disability or choose to come as a volunteer.

How do I register if I want to participate?

You do not need to pre-register. You can fill out the attached form above and bring it to the event or fill out a form at the registration/volunteer tent.

Is it ok to bring my children to this event?

Absolutely! But minors must be supervised at all times.

Is it ok to bring a dog to this event?

Yes, but it must be on a leash.

Where should we park on the day of the event?

There will be a drop off area at Hall 20 for individuals with disabilities. You will see a sign on East College that says “Drop-Off” pointing to Hall 20. Your vehicle will then need to be parked elsewhere. There are several areas close to the Ag Pond that you can park free of charge on this day.
