General Information:

  • Previously scheduled city manager candidate interviews will be postponed until further notice and will be rescheduled to give candidates optimal time to tour and meet the community.
  • The A. L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport will remain open to facilitate local aviation, and there are currently no restrictions on commercial flights. For more information, please call airport staff at 936-560-9567. 
  • The recreation department’s Corporate Challenge which offers leisure competition among local businesses is postponed until May. New dates and plans will be communicated when available.

How do I pay my water bill?

Visit our website or visit the kiosk at City Hall, walk-in payments are not being accepted.  

We are planning a family event or worship services. Can we still host it? 

It is at your discretion and we recommended following the most recent CDC guidelines on public gatherings.

How do I pay my court fines?

Visit this website or call (800-444-1187) 

What if I have a court date or other business at the municipal court? 

The City of Nacogdoches Municipal Court is rescheduling all March court proceedings, and the court will be temporarily closed until further notice. Persons will be notified by mail of their new court date. Citizens seeking to resolve their citation(s) can do so in the following ways: (1) Online at trafficpayment.com, (2) by phone at 800-444-1187, or (3) by mailing a money order to P.O. Box 635030, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963. Any questions can be answered by calling the court at (936) 559-2641 or via email at mcourt@ci.nacogdoches.tx.us.

Are the parks open?

Yes, please exercise all recommended safety protocols when utilizing public spaces. 

I own a small business. What can I do? 

The Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO) is monitoring the small business administration resource programs for information and possible aid for businesses affected by the coronavirus and will release information as soon as it is available. NEDCO staff remain available to answer any questions at 936-559-1255.

Is the Library Open? What about my overdue books?

Overdue fines will not accrue during this period. You may return items through the outdoor book drop or wait until we reopen. Scheduled library programs will be postponed for a later date. Call library staff at 936-559-2970 to access free online books & audiobooks. More specific library questions and resources can be found here.

What facilities are open? 

Public facilities such parks, pavilions, playgrounds, and cemeteries are remaining open at this time, but please follow all recommended safety protocols when utilizing public spaces.

I signed my child up for a sports league or class at the recreation center, is this postponed?

Additionally, all off-site activities sanctioned by the City of Nacogdoches including soccer, softball, volleyball, and baseball leagues are postponed until April 4. 

Are there historic activities I can do while the museums are closed?

Yes! History is everywhere in Nacogdoches, you just have to do a little walking. We have a wonderful statue trail with 7 bronze statues of historic Nacogdoches residents. (map here: https://www.visitnacogdoches.org/listing/statue-trail/44/) Another great option is taking a walk through historic Oak Grove Cemetery.

Animal Services:

Q: I own a dog/cat that is at the Shelter and I need to pick it up. What do I do?

A: Call the Shelter at 936-560-5011 and make an appointment with staff for animal pickup. 

Q: I want to adopt an animal. When can I come look?

A: The Animal Shelter is currently closed to the public but animals can be viewed on petfinder.com. You can find an application here and submit to animalservices@ci.nacogdoches.tx.us. When we reopen you will be notified if you have been approved to adopt that animal and pickup will be allowed during regular business hours.

Cemetery:

Q: Can I currently purchase a space or speak with Cemetery staff?

A: Yes, the office at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery is open normal business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Staff encourages you to call or email before visiting to ensure someone is there to help you - 936-560-5314 or laytonc@ci.nacogdoches.tx.us.

Q: How much are spaces?

A: Cremation spaces at Sunset Memorial start at $300 each, single spaces are $600 each and upright spaces are $1,400 per pair. At Pine Grove, single spaces are $500 each and upright spaces are $1,200 per pair.

Recreation

I have my kid signed up for Gymnastics Session II (March 2 - April 16), what will happen?

The recreation staff have been in contact with each parent to either issue a refund OR put a credit on your child’s account. If you have not gotten a phone call, please call the recreation center at 559-2960.

We have the Gymnastics room rented for a birthday Party, is that still happening?

No, until the building is open to the public again the gymnastics room is unavailable. Please call the recreation center to get a refund.

Is Corporate Challenge still happening?

We have made the decision to move Corporate Challenge to MAY! We will have more information by the end of this week.
